A food forest on Zealand clay

In Spring 2021, in support of the application for an environmental permit, a study was made of the identity determining factors of the (semi) open landscape of Goeree-Overflakkee on how a food forest can be fitted into the landscape. The food forest is a pillar of the transition to sustainable and ecological farming in which food production, recreation and education go hand in hand

After the environmental permit was granted in September 2021, a design was made for the wind hedges, which were planted in Winter 2021-2022. In Spring 2022, the design was further developed to enable planting of the first edible crops in Winter 2022-2023.
